Child Support

Every child needs financial and emotional support, and every child has the right to support from both parents. Minnesota’s child support program helps children receive the financial, medical and childcare support they deserve. We provide the following services:

  • Locating parents
  • Establishing parentage
  • Establishing child support court orders
  • Collecting, recording, and sending or depositing support payments
  • Enforcing support orders for basic, medical, and child care support
  • Reviewing and asking the court to modify support orders when appropriate
  • Working with other states and countries on these services
  • Apply online
  • Fill out an application at our Child Support Office

All payments must be received through the MN Child Support Payment Center using both your Participant Number and your full name.

For your Participant Number, please call 800-657-3512 and select option 5.

Automatic recurring withdrawal

Complete the Automatic Recurring Withdrawal Authorization Form and mail it to:

Online
  • Minnesota Child Support Online – Must use checking or savings account. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • iPayOnline – Pay by debit card or other electronic payment form. Note that iPayOnline charges a fee, and it may take up to four days for your payment to post to your child support case.
By mail
  • Mail a check, cashier’s check, or money order to:

  • Include your name on the payment and at least one identifying number, such as:
    • Minnesota child support participant number
    • Social Security number
Cash
  • PayNearMe – Call Child Support to sign up. See locations of PayNearMe. Please note that PayNearMe charges a $1.99 fee per transaction and it may take up to four days for your payment to post to your child support case.
  • MoneyGram – Find a participating location. Note that MoneyGram charges a $3.99 fee per transaction and it may take up to four days for your payment to post to your child support case. Use Minnesota’s MoneyGram child support receive code, 14665, when completing the ExpressPayment service form.
