NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE PETITION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF
“BIG MCDONALD #2 (SCHWARTZ) LAKE”
TO
“MCDONALD LAKE”

Pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statute 83A.05 through 83A.07 NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners in the Commissioners’ Room at the Government Services Center, 500 Fir Ave W., Fergus Falls, MN, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. for the purpose of considering a petition to change the name of Big McDonald #2 (Schwartz) Lake, which is located mainly in Sections 20, 29, 30 of Township 136 Range 40 (Edna Township), to McDonald Lake or East McDonald Lake.   

At the public hearing, legal voters of the county and municipalities may appear and file an answer to the petition, stating why the petition should not be granted in whole or in part, and may ask the County Board  to give to the body of water a different name than the name requested in the original petition. 

At the hearing on the petition, the County Board will hear all interested individuals and shall make an order, by resolution, determining the name of the body of water described in the petition.

The petition is available for public inspection on Otter Tail County Web Site at http://www.co.ottertail.mn.us/ or in the County Auditor’s office during normal business hour Monday through Friday.  Written comments submitted prior to the public hearing should be sent to the Government Services Center, 510 Fir Ave W., Fergus Falls, MN  56537.
