Youth In Action Recycling Team

Raising Money for Youth Programs
The Otter Tail County Solid Waste Department has developed a new program for youth organizations in Otter Tail County. The new program, Youth in Action Recycling Team, is a hands-on recycling program that earns community recognition and money for youth organizations.

Each Youth in Action Recycling Team will be selected by the Solid Waste Department through a simple application process. Applications are available from the Solid Waste Department. Click here for the Youth in Action 2016 application

Competition With a Purpose
Once the Youth in Action Recycling Teams are selected, each team will be responsible for maintaining one of 24 canister sites throughout Otter Tail County for one year. In addition, the selected Youth in Action Recycling Teams will be responsible for encouraging recycling in the community where the canister is located and will educate the community about what is and is not recyclable in Otter Tail County. The Solid Waste Department will provide training to those youth groups that have been selected.

Youth organizations that are selected for the Youth in Action Recycling Team will benefit by becoming educated about recycling and how it helps the community. The Youth in Action Recycling Teams will receive community recognition and earn $250 per year.
