Accepted Materials in OTC

Aluminum Cans
  • Empty cans, rinse
  • Empty, dry paint cans are recyclable
  • Clean aluminum foil and pie plates are also acceptable
Corrugated Cardboard
  • Remove any packaging materials, flatten boxes
  • Brown paper bags may also be recycled along with cardboard
  • shiny or waxy cardboard is NOT accepted
  • Do NOT mix paperboard or boxboard in with corrugated cardboard
Glass
  • Rinse
  • Dishes, glasses and window glass (excluding the frame) may also be recycled with bottles and jars
  • Light bulbs, automotive glass, and porcelain are not accepted
Paperboard – Now Accepted
  • Flatten boxes
  • Place paperboard with newsprint
  • Do not recycle with corrugated cardboard
  • Waxy paperboard and cartons are not accepted
Magazines & Catalogs
  • Please keep Magazines and Catalogs dry
  • If possible, deliver your magazines and catalogs to your local recycling center during business hours
  • If delivery is not possible, items may be placed in a bag, TIED SHUT, and placed in the newsprint section of the county recycling bins
Newspaper / Phone Books
  • Remove phonebook covers and discard
  • The majority of sales flyers (inside newspapers) are now printed on newsprint (even though they may still look shiny)- which means they can be recycled along with your newspaper
  • Please continue to recycle promotional catalogs along with your magazines
Office / Computer Paper
  • If possible, deliver your office paper to your local recycling center during business hours
  • If delivery is not possible, items may be placed in a bag, tied shut, and placed in the newsprint section of the county recycling bins
  • Tag board, construction paper, & fluorescent paper are not accepted
  • Accepted: Printer & notebook paper, White envelopes, No need to remove staples! Shredded Paper (please bag)
  • Not Accepted: Tag Board or Poster Board, Construction paper, Fluorescent paper, Manilla Envelopes
Plastic
  • Rinse the container, throw away covers
  • Recycle bottles / jugs with a number 1 or 2 on them
  • All containers must have a neck or spout
  • Margarine, whipped topping and deli containers, and plastic bags are not accepted
Steel/Tin Cans
  • Empty cans, rinse thoroughly (leave lids attached when possible)
  • Label does not need to be removed
  • Empty, dry paint cans are also acceptable
