The Study’s fifth Project Management Team (PMT) meeting was held on August 18, 2016. A PMT meeting summary will be available upon approval by the PMT members.

The Draft Limited Area Star Lake Comprehensive Plan is available for review and comment

Otter Tail County, in collaboration with White Earth Nation, has been working with SRF Consulting Group for the past seven months to review the area surrounding Star Lake and Star Lake Township while connecting with the limited areas residents and land owners to learn about their community, natural resources, and transportation priorities. Most recently we have been working to document our findings and formulating the Plan for the Limited Area of Star Lake. Now it’s time to present and review our work, and provide feedback to help shape the overall implementation plan. Download the document to review at your leisure. An Open House meeting will be held on Thursday, September 8 at the Dent Community Center at 4 p.m. to gather feedback in person, with an interactive exercise developed to solicit your input on the overall implementation plan priorities for the Plan boundary area.

We look forward to hearing from you and meeting with you in person.

We encourage you to submit any feedback you have regarding the Limited Area Star Lake Comprehensive plan. The link to access the feedback form can be found here

Study Overview

Otter Tail County, in collaboration with the White Earth Nation, is working with SRF Consulting Group to complete a Limited Area Star Lake Comprehensive Plan. The purpose is to better understand and plan for potential changes in transportation, utilities, land use, recreation, housing, and more. An outcome will be the identification of the concerns of Star Lake and Dead Lake Township residents and property owners relative to the White Earth Nation’s plans for a resort and casino development in Star Lake Township. It is understood that not all concerns identified will relate to the proposed resort and casino development. Adjacent land in the surrounding area will also be reviewed to understand how it may change over time, affecting the adjacent transportation infrastructure as well.
